Public Relations

Rita Lancellotta, Publicist

What is a publicist? A publicist manages publicity for a brand or public figure / celebrity pertaining to a notable work (such as a book, film, etc.) or accomplishment (talent) and whose primary position is to maintain the public image of that individual — instead of representing an entire corporation or business.  Usually hired by public figures with media requests, publicists uniquely brand their clients using the traditional format — obtaining newsworthy hype through sophisticated channels & media outlets (magazine, newspaper, TV and website coverage) by embracing social media growth through campaigns (frequent posts & meme design), working with digital photography, print (craft, compose and release content), radio / TV / video, event booking and speaking engagements, creation & disbursement of all promotional materials, swag stores of promotional products, crisis management (if necessary) and networking through outreach to related social media influencers & celebrities of related industry.
